Overview
Kedarkantha is a mountain peak of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India.Kedarkantha is located within Govind Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttarkashi district. The climb to the peak of Kedarkantha starts from a small village called as Sankri. Kedarkantha trek is accessible for 10 months of the year except July and August (the peak rainy months in Uttarakhand).Kedarkantha trek reaches a maximum altitude/height of 12500 ft.Kedarkantha is a perfect winter trek,especially for beginners.

Itinerary
Day 1 : 15th March 2022 | Dehradun - Sankri (8hrs Drive)
- Report at Dehradun Railway Station at 6 am. And The drive to Sankri.
- Sankri is located at an altitude of 1920 meters and 6,400 feet.
- The drive from Dehradun takes you through towns and villages like Naugaon, Purola and Mori.
- The 196 km long drive takes around 8-9hours to complete.
- Overnight Stay Sankri.
Day 2 : 16th March 2022 | Sankri - Juda Ka Talab (2-3 hrs Trek)
- Post breakfast, We leave early from Sankri ,and start trek towards Juda Ka Talab.
- The path will pass through maple trees, oak forests, water streams, and stunning meadows.
- Post lunch visit Juda Ka Talab, which is a small lake famous for three land masses floating on it.
- Stay at Juda Ka Talab.
Day 3 : 17th March 2022 | Juda Ka Talab - Kedarkantha Base Camp(2-3 hrs Trek)
- Early morning wake up,Have breakfast and leave for Kedarkantha Base Camp.
- After climbing another thousand feet, you will reach the destination of the day – Kedarkantha base camp. It takes about 2-3 hours to complete this part of the trek.
- The trail from Juda Ka Talab till the base camp is indescribably beautiful and mesmerizing.
- Reach base camp by 11:00 am & rest for the day.
- Overnight Stay at Kedarkantha base Camp
Day 4 : 18th March 2022 | Kedarkantha Base Camp - Kedarkantha Summit - Hargaon(5-6 hrs Trek)
- Early morning wake up,Have breakfast and leave for Kedarkantha summit from base camp.
- Trekking for almost 7 hours for 6 kms trek
- The Kedarkantha summit is marked by an arrangement of stones with a Trishul that points to the sky. The summit offers an astonishing 360-degree view of the peaks of Uttarakhand and the Chaainsheel Pass and Kailash ranges of Himachal.From the top, you can also see the Har Ki Dun valley below.
- Reach Base camp for Lunch.
- Post lunch descending towards Hargaon
- Overnight Stay at Hargaon
Day 5 : 19th March 2022 | Hargaon camp - Sankri(2-3 hrs Trek)
- Post breakfast we head towards Sankri.
- Around 5-6 km of trek from Hargaon camp to Sankri which will take almost 4hrs to reach
- For the rest of the day, you can explore the village of Sankri, which is known to be the heart of the Har Ki Dun valley, along with other villages like Gangad and Osla.
- Sankri is a typical “Pahari” village, with an unbeatable hospitality offered by the locals. It is also the last road head to the Govind Balabh Pant Wildlife Sanctuary.
- Overnight Stay at Sankri
Day 6 : 20th March 2022 | Sankri - Dehradun(8-10 hrs Drive)
- Post breakfast drive back to Dehradun
- Overnight Stay at hotel.
- Or if you wish to leave early and want to catch a early morning flight from Delhi you can book a overnight train from Dehradun Railway Station to New Delhi by Jan-Shatabdi Express.
- After reaching New Delhi.Start return journey to Pune from Hazrat Nizamuddin by Goa Express.
