 Ratangad is a fort in Ratan Wadi, Maharashtra, India, overlooking the locale of Bhandardara.This fort is located in the Ahmadnagar district of Maharashtra. It is on the boundary of Ahmadnagar and Thane districts. The fort is about 400 years old. This fort is often covered with flowering plants in November.The fort has four gates Ganesh, Hanuman, Konkan and Trimbak.The main attraction at Ratanwadi is the Amruteshwar Temple, famous for its carvings, dating back to the Hemadpant Era - roughly from the eighth century. Ratangad is also called Jewel of the Sahyadris.

Harishchandragad is a hill fort in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra,India.Harishchandragad trek has multiple routes,the most usual being the following ones Khireshwar,Belpada,Pachnai. Harishchandragad is an ancient fort.Its origin is said to have been in the 6th century, during the rule of Kalachuri dynasty.

During this range trek, we would be covering a mountain range between Ratangad and Harishchandragad forts.This will test your endurance level as we would be walking for approx 12 Hrs on day 1 and approx 8 hours on day 2.

Itinerary

10:00 p.m.  – Meet Team Via Ferrata at Office in Sadashiv Peth.

10:30 p.m.  – Depart from Via Ferrata's Office

Starting Point : Via Ferrata's Office

Pickup Points : S.P. College, Deccan, F.C. Road, University Road, Bremen Chowk, Nashik Phata, Bhosari.

*IMPORTANT – Latecomers will have to join us on the way or make their own arrangements to reach the starting point.

No Arguments will be entertained for the same.


Day 1:

05:30 a.m. – Reach at base village Ratanwadi.

06:30 a.m. – Breakfast & Tea.Post breakfast Start Trek.

09:30 a.m. – Reach at caves on fort and explore.

11:30 a.m. – Start descending.

01:00 p.m. – Reach Katrabai Pass and having Lunch at Katrabai Pass.

01:30 p.m. – Post lunch start descending towards Kumshet.

03:30 p.m. – Reach Kumshet Village and have rest.

06:00 p.m. – Reach campsite along Mula River and Camping overnight.

Early to Bed People can go off to sleep by 10:00 p.m.

Day 2 -

05:30 a.m. – Wake Up Call & Morning Ablution time.

06:30 a.m. –  Post Breakfast start trek to Harishchandragad.

09:00 a.m. – Reach Harishchandragad and explore fort.

12:00 Noon  – Start descend.

02:30 p.m. – Reach Pachnai and have a lunch.

03:30 p.m. – Start Return Journey to Pune.

10:30 p.m. – Reach Starting point via the same route.

We may come to Pune ONE Hour Before OR After the given time.

Things To Carry
  • Valid Identity Card
  • Backpack (no sling bags, one side bags etc.)
  • Hiking pants, Woolen pullover/ Gloves, Raincoat, Jacket,Cap/Hat, socks, Cold cream, Sunglasses, Torch
  • Trekking equipment like trekking Shoes with good grip,trekking pole.
  • Crape Bandage (if you have one at home)
  • Water bottle (Minimum 2-3 LTRs)
  • Extra set of Clothes (to wear after the trek, in return journey)
  • Some ready to eat food like plum cakes, fruits, dry fruits, chocolates, biscuits,etc.
  • Any prescribed personal medicine (e.g.anti-allergic medicines suggested by doctor).
  • *Covid-19 precautions : Carry Mask & small bottle of Sanitizer.
